Sound Card: Stereo
Strengths: Great Display, MP3 player, versatility, third party support...
Weakness: Battery life, movie player, thickness, price.
The Sony clie is great, i had a Palm 3xe and needed to upgrade. I also want to iterate that before making any comments regarding problems of any product read the manual !! I regularly play MP3's on my Sony using a 128mb memory stick (blue). I use Music match to make MP3's and transfer because i think it gives you more flexibility with your mp3s. You can use any prefered software to make mp3s and...
Strengths: Color screen is amazingly sharp. Only Palm OS system to feature an MP3 player. Only Palm OS handheld to offer memory that can be purchased in 128MB form (Sony Memory Stick).Great bundle of software.
Weakness: Movie player isnt really fesible unless you are using it with your Sony Digital Camcorder (to make short MPEGs) most other movies are too large to fit on 128 meg disks.
This Sony PDA is by far the cream of the crop. I used to be a salesman for handhelds and let me tell you this is by far the best system I have come across. It is true that it is not perfect but it is far and away the best Palm OS handheld to date. Firstly, I have read complaints that people have trouble with Sony's copywrite format and they have trouble getting MP3s onto Memory Sticks. Firstly,...
Weakness: Customer support, MP3, Software
After many phone calls over weeks and varied stories with promises to speak with a "real supervisor" I'm still waiting for an answer as to when my Clie will be repaired. My unit was shipped defective but Sony has a no replacement policy. As an owner of many Sony products, this will be my last. The software does not all work, it needs upgrades, with fees of course. The MP3 is so difficult to use,...
Strengths: Good screen, the jog dial is nice.
Weakness: Copyright "protections" renders MP3 player completely worthless, uses proprietary memory stick instead of standard Compact Flash card.
I bought this PDA with the hope of playing MP3s on the road. It's nice to have an MP3 player integrated into a PDA. I noticed before buying that the unit uses its own proprietary flash memory, but that didn't bother me because I don't use ano other device that might want to share data with the PDA via flash memory. After getting the PDA, I have to say that I'm extremely dissappointed. The unit's...
Strengths: Hi-Rez screen is beautiful, fast, fits well in hand, color is a bigger deal than I first thought. Memory stick works well. Plays MP3's
Weakness: Thicker than Palm 505. Expensive. Memory Stck is propritory and expensive. MS max is 128mb.
I have had a Palm Vx and a Handera (hi-rez but monochrome). Initally I thought the color of the Sony was a gimmick because who needs their address book in color. However, when I saw the screen I fell in love. This thing rocks. It makes my routinue palm stuff actually fun. I can't wait to pull the thing out and look something up. I also thought that the MP3 player and PictureLite feactures were...
Sony CLIE PEG-N760C Handheld
Strengths: MP3 Player, Excellent Display, Versatility, Third Party Support...
Weakness: Movie Player
The Sony Clie' PEG-N760C is the king of the hill as far as PDA's go. I also wanted to stress even more what the guy before me wrote (Jonluc1, from CO) that THIS UNIT PLAYS MP3 FILES JUST FINE and that it DOES NOT force you to use some proprietary Sony format music files. Sony would like you to use their included music software but it is not a requirement. I also use MusicMatch Jukebox to rip MP3...
